In November of 2002, Jack Starr called and told me he's got a new record deal with "Cult Metal Classics", from Greece. He offered me to sing on the album. I knew Jack from my Picture days in Holland. We use to talk a lot. And we always talked about, one day, making a great record together. He was also the guy who introduced me to Carl Canedy from The Rods, and was indirectly responsible for me moving to the U.S.A. and Working with The Rods.
Jack also told me, that Joe Hasselvander(Raven), and Ned Meloni(Joe Lyn Turner), Whom I knew, from the the Rock 'n' Roll Hotel days, in Cortland. (Which was, the metal capitol of the U.S. in those days. Bands like Metallica, Anthrax, Exicter, Raven, and more, were all stituated, one time, or another in that little town), will participate on the record too.
This band has roots in 1984 when Jack, Joe and Ned were in the band Burning Starr. When that band parted ways, they knew that sometime in the future they will work together again, what they didn't know was that it would take 18 years!!!!
In december 2002, I went down to Florida, to join, Jack, Ned, and Joe, in the Garudio Studios. It took us, nearly a month to finish the recording of the album. And we were all, very happy with the results, we knew that we created a magical piece of music.
In April 2003, the Album was released, world wide, and blissfully recieved by the Metal Community. At the bottom of the page, there's a link, to at least 40 reviews of the album from all over the world. Most of them praise the Band, and the Music, and the average score is 8.5 out of 10. You can't get better than that, a great success, that I didn't expect.
And with those results.... who knows what tommorrow will bring.
Stay tune for more info.
