After the Guardian of the Flame project I decided to start my own band AVIGAL. Finding a guitar player was a huge task, I auditioned several guitar players but couldn’t find the right one. While almost giving up I stumbled upon a CD of a local band NO REASON. When I heard Dicky Reome’s playing I was floored. Dicky was just the kind of guitar player I was looking for, I contacted Dicky, we got together and AVIGAL was born. Drummer Carl Canedy, a good friend of mine from the RODS days was recruited to play the drums. On bass the band features Mark Denson. After the recording of the album a decision was made to add a second guitar player to create a bigger sound live Rich Ackerman, a close friend of Dicky was chosen to fill the position. The recording, and mixing of the first AVIGAL CD “Gates of Hell” are done. Currently the band is in the rehearsal studio working very hard on building a killer live set. Due to prior commitment to The Rods, a lifelong band of Carl Canedy, he could not join Avigal in the rehearsal studio. A new drummer Chad Turtur from the band Septembers Ash, an old friend of Dicky and Rich, was brought in to join the band permanently.
